Story

This is my latest release(via this website). It was recorded in it's entirety at Wizkid Studio in Midtown,

Atlanta.   The song is built around the guitar/bass riff.  I threw in some rhythm/lead/accent guitars to

help fill it out and drive the song.   Rob helped with some vocal ideas that really made the song pop and

Steve's drums bang it home.   It was a lot of fun to record and I was pleased with the finished product.

Hope y'all agree !

Story

A song about the uselessness of war.  I've never understood why man can't just get along.  Religious fanatics always seem to be the firestarters.  But, there are evil people out there, and sometimes, you don't have a choice.  You just gotta kill them before they kill you.  I really liked the haunting feeling of the picked guitar and the driving rhythm of the other instruments.

Lyrics

Julian says we ought to go to war, send Lawrence down to even up the score.

The Kaiser says he won't take anymore, send Hindenburg  to even up the score.

Boys now can't you see, that ain't no way to be free.

Churchhill says, let's stop him while we can, stop him now before things get out of hand.

It's too late now they gave him what he wanted, now he's going to make them run the gauntlet.

Boys now can't you see, that ain't no way to be free.

Libby says, we ought not go to fight, our enemies, let's show them love and light.

But when you find your back's against the wall, it's stand and fight or die and take the fall.

Sometimes can't you see, you gotta fight to stay free.  Always, can't you see, it's your

right to be free... but sometimes, you gotta fight.

Story

This song speaks to the depressing economic times we currently live in.  The struggles we all endure on a daily basis.   Sometimes, it gets you down, and it's hard to see a better future. But still, we slog on, do our best, and hope that better times are ahead.  At least, we all hope so !

Lyrics

I cry my heart out, if I thought it would help, it never does.

I cry my heart out, if it will help you get out.

The wheel keeps on turning, nothing slows it down.

The wheel keeps on turning, but it just brings me down.

Where are the good times, it's killing me that you're not around.

Where are the good times, let me be, to wear this frown.

When will we break out, cross over to the other side,

Why don't we break out, bust it up and roll it out worldwide,

Tired of walking the same old streets, they never change

my direction or help me find my way home.

Where are the good times, it's killing me, that you're not around.

Where are the good times, let me be, to wear this frown.

Woman won't you feel me, just take my hand and be my friend,

woman won't you feel me, let's take the highway to the end,

Aren't ya, tired of hiding, tired of hiding, near the

edge of the water, followed by your daughter.

Where are the good times, it's killing me that you're not around.

Where are the good times, let me be to wear this frown.

Story

Looking back on your life, we tend to think the best.  The optimistic human spirit won't allow us to see things as they really were.  (hence the lyric, rose colored glass, was not in fact the way it was, you can't take it back) No, we prefer to think of it fondly, even if it was not so.  That's the essence of this song.

Lyrics

We had it made and that's for sure for what we had, there was no cure.

We had it made, down by the short, a life of work, then there was no more.

And all the dreams we made by hand, they were just moments in the sand.

Days of wine and roses all the time, live in the moment, you'll be fine.

We had it made, dark in the shade, All other love would surely fade,

We made a pact, inked on the page, it did not hold up to the stage.

But all the dreams we made by hand, they were just moments in the sand.

When I try to read between the lines, live in the moment, you'll be fine.

Rose colored glass was not in fact, the way it was, you can't take it back.

You had a dream, you had a crash, rose colored glass now all is smashed.

And looking back, it was not real, you never got a chance to heal.

Looking back, it was not all black, when you start to see between the cracks.

Story

Another one of those "dark" songs.  I was listening to a lot of Joy Division at the time, so I came by this one honestly.  Dark lyrics with minor and major bar chords(with bottom two strings open, thank you Peter Buck), haunting organ and strangely bent triplet notes on the SG all add to the sad ambiance of this song.

Lyrics

Do you ever speak the truth ?  Yearning for your days of youth,

A time before it all began, before they came up with the plan.

Come into my world of pain, where evilness and darkness reigns,

Where the darkness reigns....

It's not my way to bring you down, I want for you a blessed crown,

But everytime it seemed I had you won, the sun went down, it came undone,

Come into my world of pain, where evilness and darkness reigns, where the darkness reigns.

Now there is no security, there is only opportunity,

But everytime I make a move, it's just a different way to lose.

Come into my world pain, the door is open, if you're insane,

The door is open, come be arraigned, Immerse yourself in the bloodstain,

Where the darkness reigns.....
